Espresso BBQ sauce

smoky barbecue sauce with a rich hit of dark espresso, adding depth, sweetness, and a tantalizing bitter edge that pairs great with any grilled dish.

Equipment

  • 1 Saucepan or Small Stock Pot

Ingredients
  

  • 1 ½ cup ketchup
  • ¼ cup dark soy (regular works fine too)
  • 1 Tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 Tbsp onion powder
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup apple cider vinegar
  • ½ cup white vinegar
  • 3 shots espresso

Instructions
 

  • For the BBQ, combine all ingredients except for the espresso, mix thoroughly and then bring to a simmer and allow to simmer for 10 minutes.
  • After 10 minutes pull the sauce of the heat and add espresso, covering and allowing to steep with the sauce for 10 minutes. Save till ready to serve
